Sisi Offers Condolences over Death of Bahrain's Prime Minister

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi offered Wednesday condolences over the death of Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Bahraini Prime Minister who passed away a few hours ago, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

“President Sisi sent a telegram of condolences and expressed sincere condolences to the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, government and people, on the death of the late Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Bahraini Prime Minister,” Rady said.

The Egyptian president wished that the late prince may rest in peace.

The Royal Court in Bahrain announced on Twitter today, Wednesday, the death of Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the age of 84.

The Bahrain News Agency said that Sheikh Khalifa passed away on Wednesday morning at the Mayo Clinic in the United States.

The statement added that the burial ceremony will take place upon its return to the country and that the funeral will be limited to a specified number of family members.

Bahrain declared official mourning for a week.
