President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call Friday from Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, according to Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
Sisi and Modi exchanged views on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation frameworks between the two friendly countries in the fields of health, scientific research and technology, and the efforts of the two countries to combat the spread of the new coronavirus.
“They agreed on joint coordination in the fields related to combating the spread of the virus through exchanging successful experiences and communication between authorities concerned with control efforts and health protection measures,” the spokesman added.
On his part, the Indian prime minister congratulated President Sisi on the occasion of the coming of the holy month of Ramadan, and also expressed his country's pride in the extended ties and close ties with Egypt.
Moreover, Modi praised the care received by the members of the Indian community in Egypt, and appreciated what Egypt has achieved during the past years at the level the internal achievements of security, stability and development.
“President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to foster bilateral cooperation with the friendly country of India in various fields, especially at the economic level, to maximize the volume of trade exchange and increase inter-investment,” Rady noted.
Last week, President Sisi was convened with the prime minister, the Governor of the Central Bank, the Ministers of Tourism and Antiquities, Planning and Economic Development, International Cooperation, Finance, Public Business Sector, Civil Aviation, Trade and Industry, as well as the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Financial Affairs, and Deputy Minister of Finance for Financial Policies, and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank.
“Moreover, President Sisi directed concerned ministry to pay 30% of the exporters ’dues with the Export Support Fund, at least 5 million pounds for each source, before the end of the current fiscal year,” Rady manifested.
