Sisi Meets with Qatar's PM in Cairo

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, in a significant meeting attended by Major General Abbas Kamel, the head of the Egyptian Intelligence, and Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khalifi, the head of the State Security of Qatar.

The spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency reported that the Qatari Prime Minister conveyed greetings from Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, expressing a keen interest in continuing consultations and coordination between the two nations. President El-Sisi reciprocated with greetings and appreciation, affirming the fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples.

The spokesperson added that the meeting focused on efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and protect civilians from the deteriorating conditions in the area. Both sides reviewed their joint efforts in this regard, as well as initiatives for enforcing humanitarian aid. They emphasized the grave danger of escalating operations in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, and warned of the dire consequences of such actions amid the risks of exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The meeting underscored the necessity of international efforts to prevent the expansion of conflict and increase tension in the region.

This high-level dialogue underscores the commitment of both Egypt and Qatar to fostering regional peace and stability, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts to address the critical situation in Gaza and beyond.
