President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Saturday in Baghdad.
Sisi stressed the importance of strong Kuwait- Egypt relations, affirming that Egypt is keen on developing close and distinguished cooperation between the two countries at various levels.
Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady said the President asked Al-Sabah to convey his greetings to his brother, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait.
In the same vein, Rady noted that the meeting dealt with the exchange of views on the most prominent issues in the regional arena. In this sense, they tackled a mutual understanding about ways to deal with these files.
Moreover, the two leaders agreed to continue exerting joint efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination between Arab countries to confront the growing challenges and threats to regional security and stability.
Sisi asserted that the security of the Gulf region is one of the main pillars of Arab national security, adding that it is closely linked to Egyptian national security.
On his part, the prime minister conveyed his brother's greetings to the President. He also stressed that Kuwait appreciates Egypt, the leadership and people, in light of the deep-rooted historical relations and ties that unite the two nations.
