Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Monday German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht at his residence in Berlin, according to the Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.
During the meeting, Lambrecht expressed appreciation and gratitude to Sisi for Egypt's efforts to host more than 6 million refugees, who enjoy basic rights alongside the Egyptian citizens despite the huge additional burdens imposed on the state.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi arrived in the German city of Berlin today, Sunday at the invitation of German Chancellor “Olaf Schulz” to participate in the activities of the “Petersburg Climate Dialogue” tomorrow, Monday, July 18, under the co-chairmanship of Egypt and Germany.
The spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Bassam Rady, said that the Petersberg Climate Dialogue is one of the important stations before the upcoming session of the global climate summit in Sharm el-Sheikh in November because it represents an opportunity for consultation between a large group of active countries in the efforts to confront climate change.
"Egypt’s invitation to co-chair this important forum comes in appreciation of the vital role played by Egypt in the framework of climate change negotiations over the past years," he noted.
