President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Sheikh Fahd Youssef Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Minister of Defense and Interior of Kuwait.
The meeting was attended by General Abdel Majeed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Interior, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Cairo Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanem, and Major General Khaled Abdel Hadi Al-Shanfa, Head of the Kuwaiti State Security Agency.
Official presidential spokesman,Mohamed El-Shinawy stated that the Kuwaiti Minister conveyed the greetings of Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to President El-Sisi, reaffirming Kuwait's deep appreciation for the strong historical and fraternal ties between the two countries at both the leadership and popular levels.
For his part, Sisi expressed his appreciation for Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and underscored the depth of the strategic relationship between Egypt and Kuwait.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Kuwait in all fields, particularly in economic, investment, security, and defense sectors.
El-Shinawy added that the meeting also addressed current regional developments, particularly the situation in Gaza, the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave.
The Kuwaiti official expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s efforts,alongside Qatar and the United States,in brokering the ceasefire agreement, reaffirming Kuwait’s support for Egypt’s persistent efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region.
In this regard, Sisi expressed Egypt’s appreciation for Kuwait’s consistent support for the Palestinian cause and its leading role in humanitarian efforts.
He stressed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to ensure the sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and to solidify the ceasefire, ensuring full implementation of the agreement. This, he emphasized, would contribute to restoring regional stability and laying the groundwork for a political process leading to a two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
