President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is heading to the Russian Federation today to participate in the BRICS Summit held in the city of Kazan. This marks Egypt’s first participation as a member of the BRICS group since its official membership at the beginning of this year.

Official Presidential Spokesman The official spokesperson stated that during the summit, Sisi will present Egypt’s vision and positions on several key international and regional issues. This will include ways to enhance cooperation among BRICS countries to promote multilateral efforts and address the complex global political and economic challenges.

He will also discuss reforms to the global financial structure to achieve the desired balance, particularly in relation to amplifying the voice and interests of developing countries in various international and regional forums, in light of the growing negative impact of global conflicts and crises on the development paths of these countries.

President El-Sisi’s remarks will also address climate change issues and ways to strengthen joint economic and developmental cooperation among BRICS countries.

The spokesperson added that Sisi will clarify Egypt's firm stance on the current developments in the Middle East and Egypt’s intensive efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent the expansion of conflict into a regional war, which poses a significant threat to the well-being of the region’s peoples and to regional and international peace and security.

Additionally, the President will participate in the "BRICS Plus" Summit, which includes BRICS member states as well as influential and friendly countries and international organizations. During this summit, he will emphasize the importance of "BRICS Plus" meetings in promoting South-South cooperation.

The spokesperson also noted that Sisi is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as a number of other presidents and leaders attending the summit, to discuss bilateral relations between Egypt and these countries, along with regional and international matters of mutual interest.
