President Abdel Fattah El Sisi departed Cairo on Thursday for the People's Republic of China to attend the opening ceremony of the 24th Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Beijing on the 4th of February.
"Sisi's participation in this huge global sporting event comes at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, in light of the close and strategic relations between Egypt and China," said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
During the President's visit to China, summit talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping will be held to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations that have witnessed a breakthrough in recent years at all levels.
These talks aim to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries and their peoples. Furthermore, consultations and mutual coordination on several regional and international files of common interest will be resumed.
