President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met today, Monday, with Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Adviser to the President for Urban Planning, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
The meeting was attended also by Major General Ehab El-Far, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Major General Khaled Mubarak, Head of the Engineering Authority's Advisory Office, Major General Ashraf Al-Arabi, Assistant Director of the Military Engineers Department for Designs, and Brigadier General Abdel Al-Aziz Al-Feki, Head of Road Designs, Department of Military Engineers.
Rady added that the meeting dealt with following up the executive position of a number of national projects undertaken by the Engineering Authority, especially with regard to the national network of new roads and axes in its various stages.
Sisi also followed up on the ongoing construction work in the new administrative capital and the city of Galala, as well as the Ramses Square development plan.
In this context, the construction and engineering position of some projects in the New Administrative Capital was reviewed, especially the diplomatic quarter, which will include the embassies of accredited foreign countries and the headquarters of international and regional organizations located in Egypt.
Thus, Sisi called for accelerating the executive steps for establishing the neighborhood in an integrated manner with other neighborhoods in the new capital so that it includes all the different services and various social activities for its residents and those who frequent it according to the highest level.
The engineering designs of the facilities were displayed at the Strategic Command headquarters, as well as the main entrances to the capital, as well as the Museum of the Egyptian Islamic Cultural Center.
The executive position of a number of roads, axes and bridges in Cairo governorate was also reviewed, in addition to a project to raise the efficiency of the ring road surrounding Greater Cairo in its various stages and sectors, in addition to a presentation of workflow in relation to the development of Cairo-Ismailia and Cairo-Suez desert roads, as well as Sharm El Sheikh Ring Road and the roads and the axes of the city of Al-Arish and the Toshka-East Owainat road.
The spokesman noted that the meeting witnessed a review of the various stages of the integrated project to develop the Ramses Square area, and the development of the roads and the surrounding axes in several directions to achieve traffic liquidity, as the President directed that the main goal of the project is to develop the area to reduce the burdens on citizens, facilitate traffic and reduce pollution.
