President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has received, Thursday, the Sheikhs, and the tribal figures of Libya representing the Libyan people throughout the country, according to the Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
"The meeting will be held under the slogan of 'Egypt and Libya... one people and one destiny'," added Rady.
He noted that President Sisi reiterated that the Egyptian endeavors at all levels only aim at activating the free will of the Libyan people for a better future to the state of Libya and to the coming generations.
The delegation of Libyan tribes loyal to eastern forces arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss developments in the war-torn country, a few days after the eastern-based Libyan parliament asked Egypt to directly intervene if necessary in light of what it described as a Turkish “aggression.”
According to the state-run MENA news agency, Cairo received a delegation from several tribes from Benghazi for talks about the current crisis and how to overcome it.
Libya’s Tobruk-based parliament asked Egypt to intervene militarily if necessary to safeguard the national security of both countries, Libya and Egypt.
