Sisi Directs Adding 3.5 Million Feddans to Agricultural Area

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the continuation of intensive efforts to add about 3.5 million feddans in the New Delta, Toshka and Sinai to the agricultural area in Egypt.

The area is expected to add more than a third of the cultivated area nationwide, which represents a giant national project that aims to meet the hopes and aspirations of the Egyptian people,

It comes within the framework of the state's strategy to keep pace with the needs of population growth, achieve food security, and increase agricultural exports, in addition to enhancing integration between all sectors of the national economy.

This came during a meeting held by President Sisi on Tuesday to follow up on the “Egypt’s Future” project for agricultural production with Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Mohamed Zaki, Minister of Defense and Military Production, Ahmed El Shazly, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority, Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, and  Bahaa El-Din El-Ghannam, Executive Director of Egypt's Future Authority for Sustainable Development.

Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that during the meeting President Sisi was briefed on the developments of the current and future stages of the “Egypt’s Future” project, which falls within the scope of the “New Delta” national project, including workflow rates in the project’s infrastructure, which includes roads. Axes, water wells, treatment plants, electricity supply network, as well as agricultural manufacturing and marketing systems.
