Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated, on Thursday the Egyptian community abroad on the New Hijri Year 1444.

In a congratulatory cable, Sisi wished Egypt more prosperity and progress.

On this day, Muslims celebrate 1444 years since Islam’s Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him- migrated from Mecca to Medina, to save Muslims from torture by leaders of Quraish, an Arab tribe Muhammad was part of, and to protect the proselytism of Islam from being eradicated by disbelievers at that time.
