Sisi, Biden Stress Importance of Showing Flexibility to Conclude Gaza Ceasefire

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden stressed the importance of concerned parties' commitment to overcoming obstacles and showing flexibility to complete the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

This came in a phone call received by President Sisi, Friday, from US President Joe Biden, as part of the intensive mediation efforts made by the two countries to stop the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and exchange detainees.

The official spokesman for the Presidency Ahmed Fahmy, explained that - during the call - the latest developments in the negotiation round currently hosted by Cairo were reviewed.

In this regard, President Sisi was keen to stress that reaching an immediate ceasefire agreement is of utmost importance at this critical time, whether due to the need to put an end to the catastrophic humanitarian suffering in the Strip, or to end the state of escalation and spare the region the woes of expanding the scope of the conflict, with its serious repercussions on all the peoples of the region.
