Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended earlier Thursday the graduation ceremony of the 1st batch of the Armed Forces College of Medicine (AFCM) in Heliopolis, Cairo, according to the presidency spokesman ambassador Bassam Radi.

The batch is named after Field Marshal Mohamed Abdel Ghani Al Jasmi.

During the ceremony, the graduates performed part of the exercises and training they received while studying. Later, the military band performed a number of national songs.

The president granted the first-class medal of military duty to top students in recognition of their sincere efforts.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Defense and Military Production General Mohamed Zaki, in addition to a number of military leaders and public figures.

Noteworthy, the AFCM was founded in 2013 with the aim of producing highly competent physicians who are dedicated to serving the army through modern effective and efficient medical practice and ready for military medical deployment.

This includes practicing their unique brand of medicine anywhere in the world, from primary health care units to combat situations and most importantly, addressing all the requirements of a public health officer both at peace and in war.

The AFCM provides high-quality medical education and training for medical cadets to support the military and civilian health care systems.

They do this by producing highly professional physicians and scientists who are able to conduct world-class medical research and who are continually working to develop their skills and knowledge within their profession.

The college mission is fostered by collaboration and strategic alliances with national, regional and international institutes.
