President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call with Qatari Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to follow up on the repercussions of the Iranian aggression that targeted Qatari territories.

Official Presidential spokesman, Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the President reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the leadership and people of Qatar.

Sisi emphasized that any violation of the sovereignty of an Arab state negatively impacts the stability of the entire region and exacerbates the gravity of the regional situation.

Moreover, he called for intensifying international and regional efforts to contain the current tensions, asserting that dialogue and political/diplomatic solutions remain the optimal path to overcoming crises.

Furthermore, Sisi warned that continued military escalation would only increase the suffering of peoples and undermine prospects for peace and development.

For his part, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s supportive stance toward Qatar, praising the close fraternal relations and historical ties that bind the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
