Shoukry Participates in Meeting of Libya's Neighbours in Algeria

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed on Sunday to Algeria to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of Libya’s neighbouring countries, which will be held on August 30-31, at the invitation of  Algeria.

Egypt’s participation in the meeting stems from Cairo’s constant keenness to support the Libyan people, and to enhance all efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive political settlement of the situation in Libya.

The meeting is expected to consolidate of the pillars of the Libyan state and the unification of its various national institutions, in accordance with the road map, including holding elections on December 24th; as well as ensuring the withdrawal of all foreign forces, mercenaries and foreign fighters, from Libya, in order to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people for stability and prosperity.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will hold bilateral meetings with a number of his counterparts participating in the meeting.
