Shoukry, Jordanian Counterpart Hold Talks in Cairo

Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shukri received Ayman Safadi, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

During the meeting, Shoukry stressed Egypt’s constant keenness to enhance consultation and coordination with Jordan, whether at the summit or ministerial level, in order to confront common challenges and work to find solutions to political crises and the security that prevails in the region.

He also pointed out to the importance of continuing bilateral efforts to deepen and expand economic and trade cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and removing any obstacles in this regard.

Abu Zeid explained that the meeting also witnessed the exchange of visions between the two sides regarding developments in the situation in Gaza and the efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire, implementing the recent Security Council Resolution No. 2720 regarding increasing the access of humanitarian aid to the Strip and establishing an international mechanism to monitor and follow up on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip, in light of the obstacles and obstacles that the Israeli side places on the entry of aid.

Furthermore, two ministers discussed the security of navigation in the Red Sea in light of the importance of the Red Sea route in connection with the international trade movement.

Moreover, the two ministers reaffirmed the importance of advancing cooperation within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism linking Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, for the benefit of the three countries.
