According to the Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Ahmed Hafez, the two sides exchanged, during the meeting, views regarding the prominent regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Shoukry met, on Wednesday, with Singapore’s Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean (who is also the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Climate Change) on his second stop in his ongoing Asian tour.

The foreign minister and Chee discussed ways of enhancing cooperation and coordination on climate in the coming period, in light of Egypt’s presidency and hosting of COP27, in addition to means of bolstering cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.

During the meeting, both also exchanged views regarding the important regional and international issues and evaluating their impact, as well as discussing ways to cooperate in the field of counter-terrorism.

Singapore’s Prime Minister (PM) Lee Hsien Loong received on Thursday Shoukry, who delivered him a message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Shoukry handed over the handwritten message, which dealt with ways to enhance bilateral ties and cooperation between both countries at various levels, as well as the ongoing efforts to prepare for the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the UNFCCC, which will be hosted, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt next November, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez tweeted.

Moreover, the spokesman added that Egypt’s top diplomat emphasized the importance of further advancing cooperation in the various fields of bilateral relations and joint action, to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples and the volume of common interests between both countries.

It is worth mentioning that, last Sunday, FM began an Asian tour that includes Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Pakistan, to boost the distinguished ties between Egypt and these countries.
