Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived in Tunisia on Thursday carrying a message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his Tunisian counterpart Kais Saied.
Sisi's message revolvess around the latest updates in the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GRED) crisis.
The Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi received his Egyptian counterpart and held talks together at the headquarter of the ministry.
In the same context, Shoukry delivered a message from Sisi to Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum, in which he congratulated him on winning the election on Wednesday.
Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting proved Egypt’s keenness to consult with brotherly Niger in light of the close and significant relations both countries share.
Moreover, Hafez affirmed that Shoukry reviewed what happened in the recent Kinshasa meetings, underlining the strong and political will that Egypt showed back then.
