Local outlet CBS News Sacramento reported that police are treating the case as a possible drive-by shooting.
In the wake of the incident, ABC, owned by Disney, announced it is suspending late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s show indefinitely.
The move follows controversy over Kimmel’s recent remarks about the suspect in the killing of pro-Trump activist Charlie Kirk.
The decision also comes after FCC commissioner Brendan Carr suggested the agency could review ABC affiliates’ licenses as a way to pressure Disney into disciplining Kimmel.
