Israel's internal security agency, Shin Bet (Shabak), has announced the arrest of an Israeli woman accused of conspiring with others to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu using an explosive device, according to Alqahera News.
The woman, whose identity has not yet been made public, is reportedly a resident of central Israel. She is currently under investigation for her alleged involvement in planning a terrorist act targeting Netanyahu.
According to Israeli public broadcaster Kan, a formal indictment is expected to be filed against the suspect on Wednesday. The charges include conspiracy to commit a terrorist act and attempted assassination.
The case is being handled by both Shin Bet and Israeli police. Israeli authorities have not commented on whether Prime Minister Netanyahu’s security arrangements were altered in response to the alleged plot.
