Egypt's Minister of Education and Technical Education Tarik Shawky commended the role of UNICEF in enhancing the country's education mechanism through its current initiatives and programs.

During a high-level event on Learning Recovery, chaired by UNICEF Chief Catherine Russell, the Egyptian Minister of Education and Technical Education highlighted the important role of UNICEF in supporting education reform and the way forward on improving learning outcomes for children, according to UNICEF.

The high-level meeting dealt with updating and strengthening UNICEF’s programs in Egypt and their common priority areas.

UNICEF's initiatives and its invaluable contributions to children’s welfare capacity building have been praised by Shawky also.

It's worth mentioning that Shawky and the partakers of this meeting reviewed some reports that highlight the impact of covid-19-related school closures on the education mechanism in some parts of the world.
