Severe Heat Wave Sweeps Morocco, Temperatures Hit 47 C in Number of Regions

The General Directorate of Meteorology in Morocco stated that a severe heat wave is expected to be recorded, with temperatures ranging between 45 and 47 Celsius (C ) degrees, today, Tuesday, in a number of the Kingdom’s provinces.

The Directorate stated, in a warning bulletin from a red alert level, that the heat wave is expected to be recorded with temperatures ranging between 45 and 47 degrees C today, Tuesday, in several provinces bordering the Atlantic Ocean, such as Larache, Wazzan, Kenitra, and Sidi Kacem.

It is also expected that temperatures between 42 and 45 C degrees will be recorded today in the provinces of Tangier-Asilah, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, and Meknes.

It is also expected that temperatures ranging between 36 and 39 will be recorded in the capital, Rabat, and several major cities, such as Casablanca, Mohammedia, and El Jadida.
