The United Nations will celebrate International Day of Charity on the 5th of September.
The UN agencies will hold activities that engage people and development partners in acts of charity, donate to causes they care about, and contribute to making the world a better place for all. The theme of International Day of Charity this year will be focused on eradicating all forms and dimensions of poverty
The International Day of Charity aims to promote and encourage charity and philanthropy across the globe. It also commemorates the death anniversary of Mother Teresa - a Nobel Prize winner for her heroic acts of kindness, charity, and struggle against poverty.
The day also provides a platform for charitable organizations to educate and aware people about the significant role of charity in eradicating poverty, promoting education, creating inclusive and resilient societies, and addressing a number of humanitarian issues.
