Sean Connery: 1st James Bond Actor Dies

The legendary British actor, Sean Connery, who was best known for his portrayal of James Bond, being the first to bring the role to the big screen and appearing in seven of the spy thrillers, died Saturday at the age of 90, according to the BBC.

The Scottish veteran actor, who won a knighthood in 2000, has won numerous awards during his decades-long career, including an Oscar, three Golden Globes and two BAFTAs.

Sir Sean died peacefully in his sleep, while in the Bahamas, having been "unwell for some time", his son said.
