Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) participated as a keynote speaker in a panel discussion entitled “Global Energy Partnerships between Reality and Aspirations” within the activities of the the 'HYDROGEN DIALOGUE - Summit & Expo' held in Nuremberg, Germany.
Gamal El-Din presented the Suez Canal Economic Zone’s strategy to determine the location of the green fuel industry and its complementary industries, as well as the activities and logistical services accompanying this industry, such as the activity of supplying ships with green fuel, which the region was able to supply through its ports on the Mediterranean and Red Seas.
He explained that the zone has inspiring success stories in the field of green fuel, noting that it was the first to launch the first green hydrogen project during the COP27 climate summit in Egypt.
He added that the region is committed to supporting in every possible way the localization of the green fuel industry and its feeding industries, in addition to enhancing the investment opportunities available in this field such as solar panels, wind turbines, electricity stores, etc. Water desalination plant membranes.
Gamal El-Din pointed to the activation of the framework agreements signed with major global companies and alliances specialized in green hydrogen industries and applications in the region, highlighting the allocation of areas in the industrial zones of Sokhna and East Port Said for promising industries.
