Saudi Foreign Minister (FM) Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.
Both ministers discussed regional developments and the ongoing efforts to address them, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Meanwhile, Iran's IRNA news agency reported that the conversation also covered the upcoming meeting of foreign ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states in Jeddah.
Recently, Saudi writer and political analyst Mubarak Al-Ati stated that there is significant discussion suggesting that Saudi Arabia is seeking to host U.S.-Iranian negotiations to help stabilize the region.
In media statements, Al-Ati emphasized that "Iran’s stability and economic growth are key factors for regional security and stability.
This, in turn, could persuade Tehran to curb its ambitions regarding its nuclear program, further strengthening Saudi Arabia's diplomatic position."
