Saudi Aramco announced the launch of a new high-octane gasoline grade, marking the first time Octane 98 fuel will be available in the Saudi market. The product is set to debut in January 2026, expanding fuel options for owners of sports cars and high-performance vehicles.

In a statement released on Sunday, the energy giant said the move is part of its broader strategy to diversify fuel offerings without affecting existing gasoline products in the local market. The introduction reflects Aramco’s response to evolving vehicle technologies and changing consumer preferences, particularly in the premium automotive segment.

The initial rollout of Octane 98 gasoline will focus on Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Dammam metropolitan area, as well as the main highways connecting these cities. According to Aramco, these regions host the highest concentration of vehicles that require higher-octane fuel to operate at optimal performance.

The company added that it will assess market demand following the launch before considering expansion to additional locations across the Kingdom.

Octane 98 gasoline is tailored for sports cars and high-performance engines that require higher octane levels to ensure efficient combustion, improved engine performance, and reduced knocking. Aramco said the product aligns with its commitment to offering advanced fuel solutions that keep pace with innovation in the automotive sector.

Pricing details for Octane 98 will be published on Aramco’s official website under its retail fuel sales page at the time of launch. The company emphasized that prices will be subject to periodic review in line with the Kingdom’s energy and water price governance framework, ensuring transparency and responsiveness to market conditions.

The announcement follows a series of recent initiatives by Aramco aimed at refining fuel pricing mechanisms and developing energy products, including updates to monthly fuel prices and new feedstock agreements with industrial partners.

Industry observers see the introduction of Octane 98 as a signal of a more diversified fuel landscape in Saudi Arabia, catering to both everyday consumers and the growing premium vehicle segment, while reinforcing Aramco’s role in shaping the future of mobility fuels in the Kingdom.
