Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud said on Sunday that Saudi Arabia wants to be the largest supplier of hydrogen.
The minister added that the world's biggest oil exporter intends to produce and export something in the range of about 4 million tons of hydrogen by 2030, saying that the kingdom plans to manufacture e-vehicles.
Aramco CEO, Amin Nasser, said earlier this year that the Saudi state oil company is looking for hydrogen purchase agreements in its key markets to expand its production and sees strong potential for growth.
There are increasing international calls to cut back on investment in fossil fuels and focus on shifting towards renewable energy sources.
