On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia applauded the UN Security Council's terrorist designation of Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen, as well as the widening of an arms embargo to cover all militia members.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry hoped that the action will put a stop to the terrorist Houthis' and their allies' activities.
It wanted to stop the militias from receiving advanced weapons, drones, and rockets, as well as Iranian cash.
According to the government, these weapons are being used to attack citizens and commercial facilities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, posing a threat to international maritime transit.
It reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to finding a comprehensive political solution to Yemen's situation, and expressed support for the UN envoy's efforts in that regard.
The resolution issued on Monday "strongly condemns the Houthi terrorist group's cross-border operations, including attacks on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates that target civilians and civilian infrastructure, and demands an immediate halt to such attacks."
