In a session chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi cabinet emphasized the Kingdom's strong opposition to the escalation of violence in the region during the recent "BRICS Plus 2024" summit.
The council highlighted that the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza poses a significant threat to both regional and international security. They called for an immediate ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian assistance, and a serious commitment to achieving lasting peace.
The council expressed hope that the upcoming high-level meeting of the Global Coalition to Implement the Two-State Solution, scheduled to take place in Riyadh tomorrow, would yield practical steps to support UN efforts and peace initiatives.
They aim to establish a timeline for realizing an independent Palestinian state and ending the occupation.
Additionally, the Saudi Council reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment during the "International Conference to Support Lebanon and Its Sovereignty" to collective assistance for Lebanon in addressing its current crisis.
They stressed the importance of mitigating humanitarian repercussions and supporting Lebanese state institutions in fulfilling their constitutional duties to assert sovereignty over all its territories.
