Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed the implementation and stabilization of the ceasefire agreement in a phone call with the Israeli foreign minister Gabi Ashkenazi, Egypt's Foreign Affairs said on Friday.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Hafez stated on Friday that the two officials discussed issues of stabilizing the situation in Gaza and Israel and exchanged views on the critical measure for the security of the whole region.
Lately, Egyptian authorities have requested the Israeli and Palestinian parties commit to the ceasefire agreement.
According to Egypt's initiative, Palasetine's Hamas and Israeli authorities agreed on a humanitarian ceasefire, which came into effect at 1:45 local time (2:00 Cairotime) on May 21 to reduce "human suffering".
On the other hand, Palestinian leaders expressed on early Friday morning their high appreciation to the Egyptian authorities for their work together guided by patriotic spirit and the Arab national interest of Palestine.
Also in this regard, there are no indications of violations of ceasefire agreements or resumption of hostilities, according to international reports.
Renewed clashes between Hamas and Israeli forces erupted on May 6, with intense battles raging in the various regions in the Gaza strip and Israeli territory.
