Salah Nets as Liverpool Thrash West Ham 2-0 in PL

Mohamed Salah has led Liverpool to continue their phenomenal journey to their first Premier League title in 30 years on Wednesday after defeating West Ham with two unanswered goals.

Salah had given his side the lead when he slotted home from a spot after the penalty was awarded for a foul on Divock Origi.

The iconic Egyptian star stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way in the 35th minute.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doubled his side's lead in the 52nd minute when he picked the ball up well from Mo Salah's fine pass and slotted home calmly into the corner.

Liverpool's keeper Alisson made a solid save from when Snodgrass curled the ball goalwards but the Brazilian got down low to tip it behind for a corner.

Alisson made another brilliant save in the 71st minute before Trent hit the Reds' post with the rebound, but Liverpool's defenders managed to clear the ball.

Mo Salah hit West Ham's post in the 79th minute when he curled an effort from the edge of the box but it rebounded off the post and behind.

The Reds came close to opening the scoring in the 24th minute when Salah put Robertson through with a great first-time ball but Liverpool's left-back chip was cleared off the line.

Liverpool entered the game without the Senegalese star Sadio Mane who was ruled out for a three-week stint on the sidelines with an apparent hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old star will also miss Liverpool's two upcoming Premier League clashes against  Southampton, and Norwich as he is set to return to the Reds’ squad against Atlético Madrid on February, 18 in the first leg of the Uefa Champions League last sixteen.

The Reds are now at the top of the Premier League table with a 19-point lead.
