South Africa revealed its position if Russian President Vladimir Putin visits Johannesburg to attend the BRICS summit next August.
South Africa said it was aware of its legal obligations if Putin visited Johannesburg to attend the BRICS summit in August, according to "Reuters".
"We, as a government, are aware of our legal obligation. However, from now until the summit, we will remain engaged with the various stakeholders involved," Vincent Magwenya, spokesman for President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Sunday.
Putin is expected to visit South Africa in August to attend the BRICS summit, where Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are holding talks.
