S. Sudan Appreciates Egypt's Efforts to Organize COP-27 in Sharm El-Sheikh

The Minister of Presidential Affairs of South Sudan, Dr. Barnabas Benjamin expressed his appreciation for the Egyptian efforts to organize the COP27 climate conference and reach feasible solutions, stressing his country's intention to participate at this global event.

This came during the meeting between Egypt's Ambassador to South Sudan, Moataz Mustafa Abdel Qader, and the South Sudanese Minister.

During the meeting, the Egyptian ambassador reviewed the latest developments in Egypt's ongoing preparations to host the Climate Conference (COP27), set to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on "Facebook".

He also highlighted the Egyptian presidency's priorities for the climate conference, which falls within the scope of South Sudan's interest, especially the relationship between peace and climate change.

Moreover, the Egyptian ambassador expressed Egypt's aspiration for high-level participation from South Sudan.

The meeting touched on a number of Egyptian projects being implemented in southern Sudan, including the rehabilitation of Egyptian technical schools, as well as the follow-up of efforts to establish a branch of Alexandria University in Tong city, in addition to training courses in various fields provided by the Egyptian side to build human capacities in southern Sudan.
