On Monday, the Chairman of the South Korean Nuclear Safety and Security Commission, Yoo Jook-hee, held discussions with the Director-General of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation in the UAE, Christer Viktorsson, regarding the current status of nuclear regulatory cooperation and avenues for future collaboration.
This meeting was highlighted in a statement by the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission in Seoul, as reported by the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
The statement emphasized that both parties had previously signed a cooperation agreement between the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation during the export of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in 2011.
They continue to hold regular meetings to share updates on the operational status of nuclear plants and regulatory expertise.
