The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday that it will impose a travel ban on its citizens to the border areas of Israel and Lebanon starting Wednesday.
This decision comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Amid growing concerns over potential military escalation between Iran and its allies on one side, and Israel on the other, there have been increased calls for foreign nationals to leave Lebanon.
This follows the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, attributed to Israel, and the killing of senior Hezbollah official Fouad Shukr in an Israeli strike near Beirut.
In response to the looming threat of military conflict in Lebanon, countries including Sweden, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia have urged their citizens to leave Lebanon immediately.
Additionally, France has advised its nationals in Iran to temporarily leave the country.
Several airlines are already avoiding the airspace over Iran and Lebanon and have canceled flights to Israel and Lebanon due to mounting fears of a potential regional conflict following the recent killings of high-profile members of the Palestinian Hamas movement and the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
