Some reports claimed on Sunday that the CAF Champions League final would be held at Amahoro Stadium in Rwanda.

In July, 2019, the Confederation of the African Football (CAF) announced that both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup finals would be played on a single game.

The reports said that CAF excluded Cairo and Morocco from the countries, which were nominated to host the Champions League final.

Inside World Football website said that CAF president Ahmad Ahmad and Special Advisor to CAF President Samuel Eto'o were in Rwanda's capital Kigali to inspect Amahoro stadium to determine whether it will be ready for hosting the final or not.

Amahoro Stadium, with its official capacity of 35,000 fans, is the biggest stadium in the African country.

Al Ahly are set to clash against Mamelodi Sundowns, while Zamalek are set to face Espérance Sportive de Tunis.

The first leg of Al Ahly’s encounter versus Mamelodi Sundowns will be in Cairo on February 28 or 29, while the second leg will be in South Africa on March 6 or 7.

On the other hand, the White Knights are set to host the Tunisian side in Cairo on February 28 or 29, whereas the second leg will be in Tunisia on March 6 or 7.

The winner of Zamalek and ES Tunis will face either TP Mazembe or Raja in the Semi-finals as the first leg will be held on May 1 or 2, while the second leg will be on May 8 or 9.

On the other hand, the winner of Al Ahyl’s clash against Sundowns will face either Étoile Sportive du Sahel or Wydad in the Semi-finals as the first leg will be held on May 1 or 2, while the second leg will be on May 8 or 9.

The final clash is scheduled to take place on May, 29 on a neutral venue.
