A spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee confirmed today, Friday, that security forces have so far eliminated four inmates who held hostages in Prison K-19 in the Volgograd region.
The spokesman said - in statements reported by the Russia Today - that "according to preliminary data, one person was killed during the hostage-taking operation in the prison and the information is being verified," noting that none of the hostages were injured during the security forces' operation in the building.

The Russian Interior Ministry published a video clip showing the presence of Russian special forces on alert around the prison.
Earlier, Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov reported that 4 employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service who were injured in the attack were taken to the hospital, and health authorities later clarified that two of the injured were in serious condition, and others in moderate condition.
