Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to meet Iranian President Masoud Pizishkian at the BRICS summit in Kazan in October.
In a press statement, Peskov said, "The Iranian side has an invitation, and we hope that the new Iranian president will attend the BRICS summit. We will be happy to see him, and President Putin is preparing for the upcoming meeting."
The official Iranian news agency (IRNA) also reported that the new Iranian president informed his Russian counterpart in a phone call of his readiness to sign the Northern Cooperation Treaty between Russia and Iran at the Kazan summit next October.
