The Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, in cooperation with the Russian Rose atom Foundation, organized a seminar on Russian nuclear technologies and the possibility of obtaining educational opportunities in Moscow in the field of "nuclear physics".
The event took place in the presence of a group of Egyptian engineers, specialists, a number of school and university students.
The seminar began with an overview of the construction stages of the Dabaa nuclear reactor project, and Dmitry Yermakov, chief engineer of the Dabaa project for the production of peaceful nuclear energy, spoke in detail about the levels of nuclear safety that Russian technology has reached in nuclear reactors inside and outside Russia.
Yermakov stressed that the El Dabaa project enjoys compatibility with the environment, and that the site has been chosen with great care and it can be said that it is the best in Egypt.
He pointed out to the tremendous opportunities that will result from the implementation of the project in terms of economic and social development for Egypt and job opportunities for a new generation of Egyptian engineers who are studying now in Russian universities.
"The engineers are studying with the aim of returning to manage the Dabaa plant, pointing out that if there are several countries that have built nuclear reactors in cooperation with the Russian Atom Corporation and are self-managing these plants, then we have no doubt that the Egyptians have the ability to manage the station with their cadres."
The chief engineer also confirmed to the attending students the possibility of enrolling in Russian universities through grants provided by the Russian side in the field of nuclear physics; the grants are presented every year within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Egypt and Russia in the field of education.
On his part, Alexei Tiffanyan, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, stated that the Russian centers provide all information about these scholarships, and Tiffanyan also shed light on the multiple activities of the Rosatom Foundation, which is currently building the El-Dabaa project.
Its worthy to note that there are several activities that the foundation will provide for planning and developing human resources as well as creating a complete system for training personnel to work in the nuclear field.
