Russia announced on Thursday that it carried out strikes on what it described as vital Ukrainian targets using an “Oreshnik” missile, in retaliation for an alleged attack on President Vladimir Putin’s residence.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the strikes targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities that support the country’s military-industrial complex, as well as sites involved in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Russian officials said the operation was aimed at degrading Ukraine’s ability to manufacture and deploy drones used in military operations. Moscow did not provide details on the exact locations hit or the extent of the damage.
Ukraine has not immediately commented on the Russian claims.
