The Russian air defenses managed to shoot down 19 Ukrainian drones in the Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions during the past 24 hours, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

As of March 25, the armed forces have completed the main tasks of the first stage, significantly limiting the combat capabilities and capabilities of Ukraine, given that the main objective of the operation, as announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense, is the liberation of the Donbas region.

On his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the military operation was not aimed at occupying Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov stressed, on Monday, that Moscow will not set artificial timetables to complete its “special military operation”, launched in Ukraine on February 24, by Victory Day on May 9.

In press remarks, Lavrov reiterated that the operation aims to “ensure the safety of civilians and make sure that there are no threats from Ukraine to civilians and Russia,” adding that the operational pace depends on the need to mitigate risks for civilians and Russian troops.

On the other hand, German Foreign Minister (FM) Annalena Baerbock said that Western sanctions aim to weaken the Russian economy so that it cannot wage another war.
