On Wednesday, Russia recalled its ambassador to Washington back to Moscow for consultations on the future of US-Russia ties.
US President Joe Biden described his Russian counterpart as a "killer," asserting that the Russian president would "pay the price for his interference in the recent US presidential elections."
The US president said in an interview with "ABC News": "I agree that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a killer and will pay the price for his interference in the American elections."
Biden noted that during a conversation in January, he had warned his Russian counterpart of the possible consequences.
