The permanent Russian representative to the United Nations (un), Vassily Nebenzia, confirmed during a meeting of the UN Security Council that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries are not interested in a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, and have intensified the flow of weapons to Kyiv forces.
Nebenzia said: Western countries stubbornly insist that they are not a party to the conflict, but rather they are only helping Ukraine to defend itself. However, everything is quite the opposite. The West is waging a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
The Russian delegate stressed that "since the last meeting of the UN Security Council in February, on the issue of Western arms shipments to Ukraine, their flow has not decreased, on the contrary, it has increased."
He added, "This indicates the desire of NATO countries to escalate. It is clear that they are not interested in any peaceful settlement of the conflict."
Nebenzia said, "Western countries have openly sabotaged the implementation of the Minsk agreements, to continue using the Kyiv authorities for their interests. They do not give up their own goals so far, despite the unprecedented level of their involvement in the conflict."
