The Speaker of Russia’s lower house of parliament (the Duma) accused the United States of America (USA) on Saturday of coordinating military operations in Ukraine.
The Russian lawmaker described US intervention as tantamount to direct interference in military operations against Russia.
"The USA is mainly coordinating and developing military operations and therefore directly participating in military operations against our country," Vyacheslav Volodin said on his Telegram channel, according to what was reported by the "Reuters" news agency.
Washington and European members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) provided Kyiv with heavy weapons to help it resist the Russian offensive, which resulted in the occupation of areas of eastern and southern Ukraine but failed to control Kyiv.
However, the USA and its NATO allies have repeatedly said that they will not take part in the fighting themselves in order to avoid becoming a party to the conflict.
