Real Madrid confirmed that German defender Antonio Rüdiger has suffered an injury that will keep him sidelined for an extended period.
In an official statement, the club announced: “Following medical tests carried out today on our player Toni Rüdiger by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his left leg. The recovery time remains undetermined.”
Although the club did not specify the length of his absence, Spanish media reports indicate that Rüdiger is expected to be out for three months.
Based on these estimates, he could miss as many as 18 fixtures across domestic and European competitions, including matches against Real Sociedad, Marseille, Espanyol, Levante, Atlético Madrid, Kairat Almaty, Villarreal, Getafe, Juventus, Barcelona, Valencia, Liverpool, Rayo Vallecano, Elche, Olympiacos, Girona, Celta Vigo, and Manchester City.
