In an unprecedented new initiative, the activities of the “Week of Robotics and Innovative Educational Technologies” concluded successfully.

The project was a joint effort between the Russian Federal Agency for International Cooperation Rossotrudnichestvo, Stavropol State Agrarian University, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, with the participation of leading experts in robotics and modern educational practices from Russia and Egypt.

The events spanned an entire week across Cairo, Alexandria, and Aswan, during which the Russian experts traveled 2,500 kilometers between the cities.

They delivered lessons, demonstrations, and interactive sessions attended by 1,250 participants, offering a total of 70 hours of workshops that introduced Egyptian students to the latest Russian educational technologies.

The educational program featured an interactive exhibition, a “robot battles” station, a chance to drive a Russian agricultural vehicle on a special track, and an immersive VR experience ranging from dangerous experiments in the “Virtual Chemist” to drone piloting and virtual tours of famous Russian landmarks.

During the workshops, students were able to build a functioning lunar rover, create their own virtual reality game, explore the capabilities of neural networks, and take part in a Farming Simulator gaming tournament.

Students of the Academy expressed their happiness with the great value they gained during the week.

They said they learned many new things, experimented hands-on using computers, and were introduced to a development platform called Varwin.

They also learned how to create a virtual world, move from one point to another, add text and images, and program elements in the way they envisioned.

They were introduced to other scientific innovations as well, such as a remotely controlled car operated by handheld controllers, how the car was built, and the materials used in its construction.

Academy students noted during the robotics and AI workshops that they had learned many new things and tried a variety of robot- and AI-based activities. They also experienced building a robot themselves and participated in a group competition. They described the event as very well organized, enjoyable, and enriching.

Vadim Zaitchikov, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, stated that the Arab Academy’s students participated enthusiastically and passionately in the scientific workshops, building robots with their own hands and expressing a desire to continue collaborating with Russian technology, which offers many unique scientific capabilities. Zaitchikov emphasized that this initiative marks a new step in Egyptian-Russian cooperation, and after its great success, both sides now share a strong desire to repeat this collaboration in the fields of technology and scientific innovation.
