Israeli media reported that Israel has agreed to cover the costs of clearing rubble in the Gaza Strip, a bill that may reach hundreds of millions of dollars, following firm pressure from the United States.
According to the reports, Washington urged Israel to assume financial responsibility for the extensive destruction resulting from the recent war, as part of broader international efforts to support Gaza’s reconstruction and ease the severe humanitarian situation facing its residents.
The decision comes as the White House confirmed on Thursday that the U.S. administration is preparing to move into the second phase of the Gaza agreement. Officials said these preparations include coordinated steps with local and international partners to ensure stable political and humanitarian conditions in the enclave, while avoiding any escalation during implementation.
The US stressed that its efforts are focused on maintaining momentum toward a sustainable arrangement that addresses both immediate humanitarian needs and long-term stability.
