Report: Egypt to Receive Chinese Corona Vaccine within Hours

Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed is set to hold an important conference Thursday at Cairo Airport, as official sources revealed that a delegation from the Ministry is scheduled to receive the first batch of the Chinese Corona vaccine at Cairo Airport.

The source said to Akhbar Al Yom website that the minister is going to receive 50 thousand doses of the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm, as a first shipment after the trials were conducted on it in its third clinical phase in Egypt during the past two months on more than 3 thousand volunteers, followed by another number of shipments from China.

The source explained that the trial of the vaccine has proven that it is safe and effective; it has resulted in a strong response alongside the generation of antibodies to the virus.

Vaccinating medical teams will have a priority and then using the coming shipments, the remaining groups of Egyptians will be vaccinated.
